How it works
As email arrives at the mail server, the source of the email is checked against known SPAM blacklist organizations, which track SPAM email globally and record the places it is sent from and through before arriving at your email server. If the mail is from a known SPAM source, it is sorted into a special folder called SPAM in your mailbox on the server. The SPAM mailbox is not downloaded into Outlook Express, instead you view and delete all the SPAM messages by using the Internet Services Webmail.

How To Check the SPAM Mail
To check the SPAM messages log in to the Webmail by clicking Webmail on the home page. Log in with your email account name and password. You will have both the MAIN folder with your regular email, and a SPAM folder with the messages tagged as SPAM. Click the SPAM folder, and review the messages as desired before moving or deleting the SPAM messages.

How To Move Messages
To move messages from the SPAM folder to the MAIN folder, check the box to the left of the desired message or messages, scroll to the bottom and click on MOVE TO > MAIN. These messages will then download into Outlook Express the next time you check your email.

How To Correct False Positives
Occasionally the SPAM filters will identify a legitimate email as SPAM. This is referred to as a False Positive. There are two steps you can take to correct this condition:

1- Go into your SPAM folder and open the message you want to keep. Click the button that says Do Not SPAM Filter this Email Address. In the future, all email from this address will then go directly to your Main mailbox, where you can downloaded it with your Outlook Express normally. You can also click Move to Main at the bottom of the message to move it to the Main mailbox so it will also download.

2- Contact the sender of the message and inform them that their server is listed as a SPAM server. For more information on the organization that tagged the sender as SPAM, turn on Full Headers under Edit My Preferences, then when viewing the message click on the link at the left called Header. Look for the line that begins X-IMail-SPAM, and listed on that line are the organizations that tagged the sender as SPAM.

How To Avoid Going Over Account Limit
To avoid going over the limit for your account mailbox size, you need to log in to the Webmail and delete some messages in your mailbox. The messages in the SPAM folder will need to be deleted from time to time to avoid an accumulation of unwanted mail. Be sure to check for any false positives in the SPAM folder and move them to MAIN, then you may delete any or all of the SPAM mail by selecting the messages and click DELETE at the bottom, or delete all messages in the SPAM folder by scrolling to the bottom and click DELETE ALL. To verify the amount of mail in your mailboxes, click on MENU and view the totals in the bottom right corner.

How To Change Your SPAM Filter Settings
You can change your SPAM Filter settings by clicking the EDIT SPAM SETTINGS button in the Webmail. You can enable or disable SPAM Filtering, edit addresses that you have exempted from filtering, and set your filter to Auto Delete SPAM messages after a specified number of days old - you have complete control of the SPAM filtering to enable features as needed.
